How to Reset Android Phones to Factory Default Setting (Hard Reset)

Resetting device will delete all of your personal data, photographs, installations, contacts. So be careful and don’t forget to make a backup of all your important file and data.
I think this is my first post on any android tips but I bet this wouldn't be my last.

The main purpose of this post is to explain how to reset your android phones to factory default setting.
 
There may a situation arrive when you need to know How to Reset your Android phone to Factory Default Setting. For example, you’re passing one to someone else  or you decide to buy a new Android smartphone and old to donate or your one has a constant performance problem that can not be solved. In this case reset factory settings is very useful option to deleted all stored data. Through this process all stored data will be deleted completely and permanently, as it was when out of the box for the first time and will have absolutely no data that can relate to us. There are two available ways to reset your Android devices factory settings.

Before doing something silly read the warning first.

Warning: Resetting your Android device permanently delete all your data and customized settings, all the accounts that you added in the Settings > Accounts & sync and all data associated with these accounts, personal data that you have created or synchronized to your phone, data and system settings and programs and will remove all downloaded and installed application on your device’s hard drive. Files such as your music, photos, videos, and documents will also be deleted if you select the Erase all data option. So your first work is to make a back up of any data and files you want to save before you do a factory reset.

Now, lets see the two available method to reset your Android smartphones.
Performing a factory reset via the settings menu
i. Open the Notifications panel and press Setting.
ii. Click Backup / Restore and Reset .
iii. Click Reset phone.

If you want to remove multimedia data on your phone, then select Erase all data.
Then click OK.

Performing a factory reset using hardware buttons.

If you can not turn on or access its settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the hardware buttons on Android.

Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button , and then press and hold POWER.
Wait for the screen with three images of Android to appear, and then release the POWER and VOLUME buttons.

Press VOLUME DOWN to select reset to factory settings, and then press POWER.
